Meet the Trainer
My journey began in childhood fueled by an enduring love for animals. Growing up, I often felt out of place, even among friends, which left me feeling lost and unaccepted. I spent more time with my dog than I did with other people.
As I transitioned into adulthood, I searched for ways to fill the void within me. Ironically, these attempts left me feeling even emptier.. I felt unseen, unheard, alone to endure grief, betrayal, and the loneliness of wondering if I would ever feel whole.
Just as I thought I couldn’t bear any more pain, I started working at a kennel that trained dogs for various purposes—service, search and rescue, and protection. It was there that I met Ninja, a German Shepherd labeled impossible by everyone who encountered him. Ninja carried his own deep emotional scars—ones that could have easily led to fear, aggression, or withdrawal. He had every reason to shut the world out, yet he chose to connect, to show kindness, and to trust me.
While others saw a reactive, untrainable dog whom they deemed “too far gone,” I saw a courageous spirit fighting to survive in a world that had given up on him. I spent every possible moment sitting in his kennel, making a promise to him that I would never give up on him. Our bond transformed not only our lives but also made us inseparable companions. I understood the loneliness he felt, just as he understood mine. Together, we healed, taught, and learned from each other. I believe I learned more from him than he did from me.
That experience ignited my commitment to help others foster a deep, joyful bond between pets and their owners.
"My dog's transformation after working with Take me by the paw was incredible. We finally have the understanding and joy I always dreamed of."
